Three Services, Each Performed to a Standard
We offer a focused range of watch repair and restoration services. Each one is described in full below — process, what's included, timeline, and price.
Back to HomeOur Approach Across All Services
Every job at Gilt Seconds begins with an assessment. We look at the watch, discuss what the owner needs, and only then agree on what will be done. No work begins without that agreement.
For longer jobs, we keep you informed at each stage. For all jobs, we document the work done and the results achieved. When the watch is returned to you, you receive a record of what happened during its time with us.
Prices are stated upfront for each service. If the work turns out to require something outside standard scope, we discuss revised pricing with you before proceeding.
Intake & Assessment
Watch examined and findings shared with owner before any work begins.
Agreement & Pricing
Owner agrees to proceed. Any adjustments to scope discussed and confirmed.
Careful Execution
Work carried out at pace appropriate to the service type. Owner updated during longer jobs.
Documentation & Return
Watch returned with records of work done and results measured.
Pressure & Dive Rating Verification
For owners of sport or dive watches who want to confirm their timepiece can withstand its rated depth. Using professional-grade dry and wet pressure testing equipment, each seal point is evaluated under controlled conditions. Results are compared against the manufacturer's specifications. Gaskets are replaced proactively if they show any signs of degradation, even if the current test passes. A testing certificate is provided documenting the results.
What's Included
- Dry and wet pressure testing to rated depth
- Evaluation of all seal points
- Comparison against manufacturer specification
- Proactive gasket replacement if any degradation observed
- Written testing certificate issued at completion
Process
- 1Watch assessed and condition noted at intake
- 2Dry pressure test conducted first
- 3Wet test follows if dry test passes
- 4Gaskets evaluated; replaced if any wear shown
- 5Certificate issued and watch returned to owner

Lume Restoration
Over time, the luminous material on watch hands and dial indices can fade or deteriorate, reducing legibility in low-light conditions. This service carefully removes degraded lume and applies fresh luminous compound that matches the original colour temperature — whether cool green, warm blue, or vintage cream. Application is performed under magnification to maintain precise boundaries. After curing, lume brightness and duration are tested under standardised conditions.
What's Included
- Removal of degraded luminous compound
- Colour temperature matching to original specification
- Application under stereo magnification for precise edges
- Curing under controlled conditions
- Brightness and duration testing post-curing
Process
- 1Dial and hands assessed; original lume colour identified
- 2Old lume compound removed without damaging surfaces
- 3Fresh compound matched and applied under magnification
- 4Curing period observed per compound specifications
- 5Output tested and watch returned with results noted
